The Reflections
Formed in Detroit in the early 60s, the Reflections comprised vocalists Tony "Spaghetti" Micale (b. 23 August 1942, Bronx, New York, USA), Phil "Parrot" Castrodale (b. 2 April 1942, Detroit, Michigan, USA), Daniel "Danny" Bennie (b. 13 March 1940, Johnstone, Strathclyde, Scotland), Raymond "Razor" Steinberg (b. 29 October 1942, Washington, Pennsylvania, USA) and John Dean (b. 1942, Detroit, Michigan, USA). All four were previously members of two other local groups, the Parisians and the Del Prados. After some local recognition, the group was signed in 1964 to Golden World Records. The group originally disliked the bouncy rocker "(Just Like) Romeo And Juliet", which the company chose for them to record, but it became their only hit that same year, peaking at number 6 in the US pop charts. The group found difficulty in duplicating their success and later recordings for Golden World and then ABC Records did nothing. They briefly changed their name to the High And The Mighty, but still a change of fortune eluded them. The group disbanded but reformed in the 80s around two original members.
