Chalino Sanchez
b. Rosalino Flix S nchez, 30 August 1960, El Rancho Las Flechas, Municipio de Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, d. 16 May 1992, Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Intent on a career as a singer, S nchez moved to Los Angeles, California, in his late teens. Basing his repertoire on norte¤o corridos he built a small but enthusiastic following and worked with bands such as Los 4 De La Frontera, with which group he began his recording career in 1989. The subject matter of his songs was often confrontational, concerning itself with the very real and sometimes overwhelming problems faced by Mexicans in their new lives in the USA. The tales told in these songs touched upon drugs, homicide and police corruption.
