b. Armando Manzanero Canch‚, 7 December 1935, M‚rida, Yucat n, Mexico. Manzanero's early music studies were at a local conservatory, Escuela de Bellas Artes in M‚rida, and from the early 50s he was playing piano professionally. At this time he composed his first popular song, "Nunca En El Mundo", which was recorded by many artists over the years. Later in the decade he was living in Mexico City where he worked for music publishing companies, meanwhile writing songs and performing wherever he was able. He recorded his first album in 1959.
