Pentagram
Among the best of the bands continuing the seminal heavy metal tradition of early Black Sabbath, the core of this US band was formed by Bobby Liebling (vocals) in 1970. Like Black Sabbath, their roots were in the lively white blues bands of the early 70s, which they translated into ominous, crunching riffs and dark, devilish lyrics. However, unlike Black Sabbath, who treated the infernal with ambivalence, Pentagram have always seemed much more comfortable with their Satanic themes.
