Lifetime
Led by former Miles Davis drummer Tony Williams (b. 12 December 1945, Chicago, Illinois, USA, d. 23 February 1997, Daly City, California, USA) and named after his 1965 solo debut, the Lifetime appellation was used and abandoned at the whim of its creator. It was first applied with reference to a group on the pulsating 1969 fusion recording Emergency!, with Williams joined by UK guitarist John McLaughlin (b. 4 January 1942, Doncaster, West Riding of Yorkshire, England) and keyboard player Larry Young (b. 7 October 1940, Newark, New Jersey, USA, d. 30 March 1978, New York City, New York, USA).
