Jason Nevins
b. New York City, New York, USA. A top New York producer/remixer of the 90s, whose first involvement with music was at his college radio station at Arizona State University, where his sets were primarily composed of techno material. He went on to release product as Plastick Project, Crazee Tunes, the Experience and Jason Nevins Movement. "The Viper Rooms", licensed to Loaded Records, a UK record label in Brighton, Sussex, England, was typical of his output, being completely unabashed in its use of samples. He has since recorded for Nervous Records, Logic Records, Strictly Rhythm Records and Tribal, and recorded a full-length CD in 1995. He has also remixed Ann Consuelo for Champion Records. His 1998 remix of Run DMC's "It's Like That", credited to Run DMC vs Jason Nevins, was an unexpected international hit, although Nevins only received a one-off payment of $5000 for his pains. It was followed by further remixes of classic 80s tracks such as "It's Tricky" (Run DMC), "Mickey" (Tony Basil), and "Der Kommissar" (Falco).
