Shannon Curfman
b. 31 July 1985, Fargo, North Dakota, USA. A startlingly precocious talent, Curfman followed Dakota native and friend Jonny Lang up the charts with her 1999 debut Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions. Originally released on the Pop Sense label, its blues rock flavour proved popular with regional radio stations and attracted several established record labels. Curfman signed to Arista Records, who put her on the road as support to John Mellencamp and repackaged and re-released her debut in September 1999. The songs on the album included "Love Me Like That", co-written with Lang and guitarist Kevin Bowe. The album title, meanwhile, came from a line in Sheryl Crow's "Hard To Make A Stand", which was included on the album, alongside a cover version of the Band's "The Weight".
