Shack
Formed in 1986 by brothers Michael (b. 28 November 1961, Liverpool, England) and John Head (b. 4 October 1965, England), Shack emerged from the ashes of the Pale Fountains. Having had their fingers burnt by the major record companies - the Pale Fountains reached number 46 in the UK charts with "Thank You", but were generally misunderstood by their employers - Shack joined up with independent label the Ghetto Recording Company. Experts at the cleverly understated melodic guitar pop song, 1988 saw the release of their acclaimed debut album, Zilch, which was produced by Ian Broudie.
