Barry & The Tamerlanes
Barry And The Tamerlanes were a Californian trio consisting of leader Barry DeVorzon, Terry Smith and Bodie Chandler. Best known for their upbeat 1963 US Top 30 single, "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight", the group recorded the song only after another one-hit group, the Cascades ("Rhythm Of The Rain"), turned it down. DeVorzon had previously experienced some success as a songwriter, penning minor hits for artists such as Marty Robbins. Later in his career Barry wrote songs recorded by Glen Campbell, Dorsey Burnette and others. DeVorzon's greatest successes came in the 70s, however, when he co-wrote the Grammy award-winning "Nadia's Theme" and "Theme From S.W.A.T.", the biggest US television theme song of all time, recorded by Rhythm Heritage. As for Barry And The Tamerlanes, they never returned to the charts following their first brush with success.
