b. Tokyo, Japan. Tomiie's first production, 1989's "Tears', was championed by pioneering US house DJ Frankie Knuckles and featured the respected vocalist Robert Owens. It is now considered a prime example of vocal house by dance music aficionados. Tomiie also befriended another New York-based and now world-famous DJ, David Morales. As part of Morales" Def Mix production team, he eventually went on to work with artists such as U2, Chaka Khan, Mariah Carey and David Bowie.
