Roger
b. 29 November 1951, Hamilton, Ohio, USA, d. 25 April 1999, Dayton, Ohio, USA. Multi-instrumentalist Troutman is best remembered for his work with early 80s funk superstars Zapp, although he enjoyed a moderately successful solo career under the Roger alias and worked as in-demand session musician and producer. His tragic death in 1999 should not be allowed to overshadow the fact that Troutman was a figure to rival George Clinton and Larry Blackmon, with musical, technical and business abilities.
