Wanda Jackson
Wanda Jackson began her career as a straightforward honky-tonk singer. Then Elvis came along and Jackson transformed herself into a rockabilly dynamo, scoring with such killer tunes as "Hot Dog," "Fujiyama Mama," and "I Gotta Know." Jackson ultimately returned to mainstream country, cranking out hits until the early '70s. In 1971 she gave up rock to return to gospel singing, but since 1996 she has performed with such rock luminaries as the Cramps and Elvis Costello.
