Mick Jagger
When Mick Jagger famously declared he didn't want to be singing "Satisfaction" at the age of 40, he probably didn't dream that he would still be performing it well into the 21st century--or that he would make solo records. Nevertheless, in 1985, tensions within the Rolling Stones led members to branch out, and Jagger enlisted some of his peers in rock royalty (including Pete Townshend and Jeff Beck) to make SHE'S THE BOSS. It didn't break much new ground, but the album rocked like the best of late-era Stones. In two subsequent solo releases, Jagger broke away from the Stones formula a bit more, especially on 1993's WANDERING SPIRIT, which benefited from contributions by Flea and Lenny Kravitz.
