American Music Club
Fronted by downcast singer/songwriter Mark Eitzel, 1980s and '90s outfit American Music Club were the ultimate beautiful losers. Their sound was a unique mix of country/folk-rock and post-punk, framing Eitzel's low self-esteem in alternately elegant and discordant arrangements. Despite critical raves, the band never achieved more than a cult following, eventually breaking up when Eitzel went solo.
