Cowboy Mouth
Formed in 1990, this New Orleans, Louisiana, USA-based rock band originally comprised Fred LeBlanc (lead vocals/drums), John Thomas Griffith (guitar/vocals), Paul Sanchez (guitar/vocals) and Steve Walters (bass). The seeds of the band were sewn in the early 80s when Sanchez and LeBlanc played in a group known as the Backbeats. Griffith was formerly a member of Red Rockers (a New Orleans/San Francisco outfit best known for their temporary inclusion of Jim Reilly of Stiff Little Fingers), while Savoy had previously played for the Bluerunners, who recorded for Island Records. Sanchez named the act after a play written by Patti Smith and Sam Shepard.
