b. 11 January 1974, New York, USA. Progressive urban R&B vocalist Rahsaan Patterson attracted strong reviews upon the release of his self-titled 1997 debut album. A collection of ballads combining strong melodic and rhythmic elements, critics were impressed both by his sonorous voice and the maturity of the songwriting, earning the singer comparisons to artists such as Maxwell and Eric B‚net. Born in New York but resident in Los Angeles, the ambitious, engaging young artist was keen to state that his lyrics reflected the life he saw around him in urban California. Although Rahsaan Patterson was his first recording, the artist could already boast of considerable experience in the entertainment industry. As a child, he was a featured performer on Kids Incorporated, a televised variety series, and also appeared in various commercials. While recording demo material in Los Angeles he made his name as an in-demand backing vocalist, and also co-wrote two hit singles - "Back To The World", written with Keith Crouch for Tevin Campbell, and "Baby", written with Les Pierce for Brandy. Patterson's guest vocals for Pierce's own band, Colour Club, helped bring him to the attention of MCA Records. Pierce and Crouch both reappeared on Patterson's 1997 debut, alongside Jamey Jaz, Ira Schick and Dinky Bingham. The follow-up, Love In Stereo, was another superb collection of heartfelt contemporary soul.

  Rahsaan does not get enough explosure, he is absolutely one of the best out there. Songs you know and love just to name a few... I'll Go by Donell Jones from love & basketball Baby by Brandy and so many more he has written. Get all CD's you will fall in love with Rahsaan
