Fragma
This European dance music act comprises brothers Marco and Dirk Duderstadt and Ramon Zenker. The Duderstadt brothers have been DJing successfully in Europe since the mid-90s, and Fragma arose out of a desire to produce their own material. Zenker found success in 1989 with Honesty 69's "French Kiss", then as one half of the Hardfloor duo that brought acid house to prominence during the next decade. The three co-wrote and produced the hit "Toca Me", whose laid-back guitar sounds were an integral part of the European trance upsurge in the summer of 1999. A chance bootleg showed that this instrumental track snugly fitted the vocals of Coco's house anthem "I Need A Miracle". The resulting "Toca's Miracle", now a great pop song, was snapped up by Positiva Records and raced to the top of several charts throughout Europe in early 2000. Eva, the first of various Fragma vocalists, sang Coco's vocal line. Maria Rubia then sang on the follow-up "Everytime You Need Me", a catchy pop song and Top 10 European success. The classically trained Damae appeared on the outfit's third hit, "You Are Alive", and the majority of Toca. Released in early 2001, the album promoted Fragma's trance sensibilities.
