Autograph
Autograph were formed in Los Angeles, California, USA, in 1983 by vocalist Steve Plunkett and bassist Randy Rand. With the addition of Steve Lynch (guitar), Steven Isham (keyboards) and Keni Richards (drums), the band signed to RCA Records the following year. Comprising five exceptionally talented musicians, they delivered a strong combination of sophisticated and melodic AOR that had enormous pop-metal crossover potential. "Turn Up The Radio', from their debut Sign In Please, became a belated US Top 50 hit in 1985, with the album eventually peaking at number 29 in the Billboard chart. Two further excellent albums were released, with 1987"s Loud And Clear representing the pinnacle of the band's creativity. Isham quit in 1988 to start a new project with ex-Dio guitarist Craig Goldie. Autograph continued as a four-piece, but failed to attract media attention or repeat their initial success. They subsequently became disillusioned and disbanded in 1989, having failed to realize their potential. Richards joined Dirty White Boy.
