Bardo Pond
Philadelphia's Bardo Pond have been creating gauzy, hypnotic drone-rock masterpieces since their inception in the early 1990s. While the band's music is by no means for timid ears, there is undeniable structure and beauty lurking beneath the mountainous multi-instrumental onslaught that marks their sound. Bardo Pond have recorded for various labels, but released four key releases during the 1990s and early 2000s on the venerable independent label Matador, insuring that the band's druggy space-rock flares shoot their way out of the underground from time to time.
