The Golden Palominos
This unorthodox rock act's profile has been much enhanced by the glittering array of celebrities who have contributed to their work. They are led by drummer Anton Fier (b. 20 June 1956, Cleveland, Ohio, USA), who gave birth to the Golden Palominos in 1981. Prior to this he had spent time in the ranks of experimental bands Lounge Lizards, the Feelies and Pere Ubu. The band's albums have seen guest appearances by John Lydon (the Sex Pistols, PiL), Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Arto Lindsay, Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Daniel Ponce, Richard Thompson, T-Bone Burnett, Jack Bruce and Syd Straw, among others. The other core members of the band have included Nicky Skopelitis (guitar), Robert Kidney (guitar, vocals), and Amanda Kramer (vocals).
