delirious?
The UK's leading Christian rock act started out as a worship band in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Martin Smith (b. 1970; guitar/vocals), Stewart "Stew" Smith (b. 1968; drums) and Tim Jupp (b. 1966; keyboards) inaugurated the Cutting Edge in 1992 to play at a monthly youth club in their church. Such was the popularity of their live sets that the band began taping them for sale on their own Furious? label. By 1995 the trio had expanded to a quintet with the addition of Stuart Garrard (b. 1963; guitar) and Jon Thatcher (b. 1976; bass). The members elected to take the plunge and pursue music full-time, changing their name to Delirious? and releasing Live & In The Can. Their first studio album proper, King Of Fools, demonstrated the grassroots support the band had accrued over five years when it broke into the UK Top 20. "Deeper" and "Promise' achieved the same status on the singles chart, despite receiving limited radio play. The band subsequently signed US deals with Sparrow Records (for the Christian market) and Virgin Records (for secular releases), and began to make an impact on the international charts. 1999"s Mezzamorphis was premiered by "See The Star", which reached number 16 on the UK singles chart in spring 1999 despite the usual lack of mainstream radio exposure. The following year's Glo was a hugely ambitious worship album that revealed Delirious? to be the true spiritual heirs of Pink Floyd. The band's second mainstream album Audio Lessonover? was re-edited for the American market and retitled Touch. The original title was actually an anagram of "Radio One Loves Us", a reference to the station's unwillingness to playlist singles by Delirious? Following the release of a Spanish language album (Libertad) and a live set (Access:d) in 2002, the quintet returned to the studio to complete the worship-orientated World Service.

delirious?' songs are awesome, They never seem to get old. Their worship makes young people that have never had a relatonship with Jesus want to find more out about him, and draw close to him.
