Geraldine Hunt
b. Chicago, Illinois, USA. Hunt attended the same school as Minnie Ripperton and took time off from her studies to release her first single, "I Let Myself Go", in 1962. Hunt's first US R&B chart entry came in 1970 with "You & I", a duet with Charlie Hodges. She had two more small soul hits on Roulette in the early 70s. She relocated to Montreal, Canada, shortly after and by the late 70s had her first French language hit there with "Ne Me Dis Pas Adieu". In 1980, she signed to Canadian disco label Unidisc and her production of her own song "Can't Fake The Feeling" returned her to the US R&B chart and became her only UK Top 40 entry. In 1982 her composition "Murphy's Law", which she also produced, was a transatlantic hit for Cheri, a duo that included her daughter Rosalind.
