b. Tyrese Darnell Gibson, 30 December 1978, Los Angeles, California, USA. This photogenic urban R&B singer is also a highly successful model and actor. Gibson grew up in Los Angeles' tough Watts ghetto, gaining his big break when he starred in a 1997 advertisement for Coca-Cola. RCA Records won the ensuing scramble for Tyrese's signature, and were rewarded when his self-titled 1998 debut album spawned the US pop and R&B hits "Nobody Else", "Sweet Lady" and "Lately".
