Sunz of Man
Originating from Brooklyn, New York, USA, the Sunz Of Man was formed by rappers Killah Priest (b. Walter Reed, New York, USA), 60 Second Assassin, Prodigal Sunn and Hell Razah. Closely affiliated with Staten Island's Wu-Tang Clan, the Sunz crew worked on their debut album for three years while contributing to numerous Wu-Tang associated releases. After working on Ol' Dirty Bastard's 1995 set Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, the Sunz Of Man released their debut single "Soldiers Of Darkness"/"Five Arch Angels" on the Wu-Tang label. The single also marked the production debut of their associate 4th Disciple, and featured vocal contributions from future stars Killarmy. The fifth arch angel referred to on the b-side was Shabazz The Disciple, recording under the pseudonym of Holy Psychiatrist, although contrary to rumour he never joined the crew. The single became an underground hit, and was followed by an appearance on "Wicked Wayz" from the One Million Strong compilation. Killah Priest also contributed to "Where Ya At?" on the same album. His high-profile contribution to the Genius' Liquid Swords attracted further attention to the Sunz Of Man, who released a second single "No Love Without Hate".
