Skid Row
This blues-based rock band was put together in Dublin, Eire, in 1967, by Brendan Shiels (b. 1952, Dublin, Eire; bass), Noel Bridgeman (drums), Bernard Cheevers (guitar) and Phil Lynott (b. Philip Parris Lynott, 20 August 1949, West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England, d. 4 January 1986, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England; vocals), but the initial line-up only survived 12 months. Cheevers was replaced by Gary Moore (b. Robert William Gary Moore, 4 April 1952, Belfast, Northern Ireland) and the new line-up completed the single "Misdemeanour Dream Felicity"/"New Places, Old Faces", released on the Irish label Song Records. Lynott then left to form Thin Lizzy and Skid Row was recast as a power trio, with Moore on lead vocals. A second single for Song, "Saturday Morning Man"/"Mervyn Aldridge", was released before the trio secured a UK contract via CBS Records.
