Creation
One of the U.K.'s premier Mod bands of the 1960s, the Creation had a less blues influenced approach to their sound than many of their British invasion contemporaries. Funneling an experimental art-pop sensibility through fuzzed-out R&B, the Creation produced some of the most high-energy sounds of the era. Considered the first band to use a violin bow on an electric guitar, the Creation were a direct influence on Jimmy Page and, subsequently, Led Zeppelin. The band would reach a much larger audience in the late '90s thanks to the use of their song "Making Time" in the film RUSHMORE.
