This UK heavy metal band was formed in 1972 and was originally known as Beast. Bedlam consisted of former Truth singer Frank Aiello (vocals), Dave Ball (b. 30 March 1950; guitar), Dennis Ball (bass) and Cozy Powell (b. Colin Flooks, 29 December 1947, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England, d. 5 April 1998, Bristol, England; drums). Powell and Dave and Dennis Ball were previously members of the Ace Kefford Stand and Big Bertha, but this new act was convened following Powell's tenure with Jeff Beck and Dave Ball's spell in Procol Harum. Despite early optimism, Bedlam failed to establish the UK quartet as a commercial proposition and they split in 1974. Powell and Aiello then formed Cozy Powell's Hammer, while their ex-colleagues left music altogether.
