Peter Rauhofer
b. Vienna, Austria. Rauhofer is a typical dance music renaissance man in the sense that he is a producer, remixer, DJ and label owner. One of Austria's most successful musical exports, his remix credits include Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Yoko Ono and he has even won a Grammy Award for his studio skills. Rauhofer first made an international name for himself as Club 69 in 1992 with the club hit "Let Me Be Your Underwear", but he had been actively involved in the Viennese music scene for some time before that first flush of commercial success. In his late teens he began working in a record shop and for the label GIG Records. Working at the shop, be was exposed to the early house and techno records coming from Chicago and Detroit. Around this time, he also started DJing at an underground club, U4, in Vienna. While working for GIG, and making his own tracks in their studios, he conceived a compilation album to showcase local artists. Kruder And Dorfmeister were among the artists that Rauhofer brought into the studio. As A&R man for ffrr Records, the dance imprint of the UK's London Records label, Pete Tong signed the suggestive dancefloor classic "Let Me Be Your Underwear" for UK release.
