finetune artist: Pedro the Lion

Although other musicians have lent a hand over the years, the emo (emotional hardcore) outfit Pedro The Lion is truly a one-man band, led by multi-instrumentalist David Bazan. Hailing from the Seattle, Washington, USA area, Pedro The Lion originally formed during the mid-90s, and at first, was a five-piece outfit. Shortly after issuing the EP Whole in 1997, Bazan dismissed all of the band's members, and opted to keep the Pedro The Lion name for his solo project. The following year Pedro The Lion released the debut, It's Hard To Find A Friend, an album that landed Bazan quite a few critical accolades (such as the US publication Spin naming it as one of the "ten best records you didn't hear" that year). Bazan then signed a deal with the indie label Jade Tree, and continued issuing albums at a steady rate, most of which were created on his own in his home recording studio.
