Etienne De Crecy
b. Lyon, France. De Crcy is one of the principle architects of the Parisian house sound that emerged during the mid-90s and gave rise to artists such as Air, Cassius and Bob Sinclar. De Crcy's recording career began as Motorbass, a partnership with Philippe Zdar (of La Funk Mob and Cassius) that began in the late 80s. The two met while both working as recording engineers at the famous Paris recording studio, Plus XXX. Inspired by the house and techno being played in the city's clubs, they began producing their own tracks. The Motorbass EP appeared on their Cassius label in 1991 and was well received by DJs and critics in France and the UK. De Crcy went on to explore a harder-edged house sound with releases under various monikers such as Stein House and Minos Pour Main Basse.
