This London, England-based progressive/ambient duo comprises Charlie May (b. 7 March 1969, Gillingham, Kent, England) and Duncan Forbes (b. 29 January 1969, Yeovil, Somerset, England). They signed to Guerrilla Records for their first release, "Don't Panic", in May 1992. The name came about as a "last minute decision, which just seemed to fit in with the sound of our music". May had previously worked as a sound engineer and caffeine research analyst, seeing service in groups such as Psi'Jamma and as keyboard player for Ultramarine. His partner Forbes had played in a variety of indie bands, including Red Ten, and enjoyed temporary positions as a school chef, van driver and bar tender.
