Rockpile
The name Rockpile was derived from a 1972 album by founding vocalist/guitarist Dave Edmunds. In 1979 he suspended his solo career by officially joining forces with three musicians who had featured on several albums issued under his own name. Ex-Brinsley Schwarz frontman, Nick Lowe, bass player Billy Bremner (ex-Lulu And The Luvvers) and drummer Terry Williams (ex-Love Sculpture - with Edmunds - and Man), completed the founding line-up. Seconds Of Pleasure fused Edmunds' love of classic rock 'n' roll with Lowe's grasp of quirky pop, but although Rockpile members continued to guest on the pair's solo albums (Twangin'/Edmunds; Nick The Knife/Lowe), the quartet split up following internal disputes. The two vocalists subsequently pursued independent paths, while Williams eventually joined Dire Straits.
