Blue Rodeo
This country rock band from Toronto, Canada, have often found themselves fielding comparisons with the Band, although in truth their sound owes as much to Buffalo Springfield and the Beatles. They deserve wider recognition outside Canada where they remain one of the country's most popular acts. The band was formed by two distinctive singer-songwriters and guitarists, Jim Cuddy (b. 2 December 1955, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and Greg Keelor, who had been playing together since 1977 under various names, including the HiFis and Fly To France. The other founding members comprised Bazil Donovan (bass), Cleave Anderson (drums), and Bob Wiseman (keyboards). After a strong debut with 1987's Outskirts, which dealt almost exclusively in broken hearts, loss and yearning, Diamond Mine encompassed a wider lyrical scope with targets that included Colonel Oliver North and others who used "God And Country" to justify their self-interest (in the song of the same title). The recording took place in an empty hall in Toronto, but a bland production aside it confirmed the arrival of a strong writing team, embellished with skilful musical interplay. Anderson left the band following the album's release, while Wiseman made his solo debut with an album of upbeat and quirky self-written compositions.

Why so little Blue Rodeo? Only one of their albums??????? They have 11 standard albums, plus greatest hits compilations, etc.
