Urge Overkill
Urge Overkill played strong, tight rock very much in the vein of their fellow Chicago indie-rock cohorts. However, whereas many Windy City bands opted for noisy intensity, Urge Overkill sported 1970s power-pop hooks and an over-the-top lounge lizard image (which included velvet smoking jackets, gold medallions, and martinis) to set them apart from the crowd. Although they made several excellent records, they're probably best remembered for their version of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" featured in the film PULP FICTION.
