Jonathan Richman
In his early-1970s days with the Modern Lovers, Jonathan Richman was a proto-punk who railed against the hippie drug culture. His subsequent solo career found him toning down his hard-edged sound for a more fun-loving, light-hearted approach and solidifying his image as the quintessential man-child, the irresistible Mr. Rogers of rock & roll.
