Klark Kent
Whether this Klark Kent is the same man who works as a reporter for the Daily Planet is unclear. His close friend Stewart Copeland (b. 16 July 1952, Alexandria, Virginia, USA), drummer with the Police, tells us that Kent "dabbles in politics, religion and anthropology". He owns a huge multinational company called the Kent Foundation, whose sinister influence is behind many world events. Kent is unable to tour because an unpleasant odour emitted from his body makes him intolerable to other musicians . . . The truth is, of course, that Kent and Copeland are one and the same. In 1978 when the Police were still waiting for their major breakthrough, Copeland was looking for some extra-curricular activities, having previously been cited as a member of the unrealized group the Moors Murderers. Creating the alter ego of Kent, his first single "Don't Care" was released on Kryptone in 1978 and later reissued on A&M Records when it was a minor hit. The follow-up, "Too Kool To Kalypso" (back on the Krypton label), was pressed in lurid Kryptonite green; two more singles and a solitary mini-album followed, before Kent disappeared allowing Copeland to write film music and continue drumming with the Police.
