Jack Teagarden
His incredible technique and infinite mastery of blues expression made trombonist Jack Teagarden one of the true giants of jazz. Trombone was one of the last intruments to be rythmically emancipated through jazz, but after Teagarden began recording, that matter changed. His voice was just as distinguished and compelling as his trombone playing, and any of his many appearances on records by Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, and others (not to mention his own as a leader), are to be treasured.
