Juno Reactor
Led by Ben Watkins and Mike MacGuire, who had previously worked with Youth, Juno Reactor has at various times included Johann Bley (who records for Blue Room Released as Johann), Stephane Holwick (of Total Eclipse) and Jans Waldenback. They grew out of the early Goa vibe in the early 90s, playing at the Full Moon parties on the travellers' circuit around the world, and with their album Transmissions (Mute Records, 1993) became one of the first trance groups to gain widespread recognition. However they have always stood apart from that sometimes formulaic scene: from an early stage Watkins employed heavy rock guitar in combination with techno ideas for their live shows. After signing to Blue Room, they released the single "Guardian Angel/Rotorblade" and a second album Beyond The Infinite in 1995. The following year "Conga Fury/Magnetic" gained Juno Reactor widespread praise for its innovative sound. In 1997 the group enjoyed a Top 40 hit with "God Is God" which featured Natasha Atlas on vocals and was taken from their successful album Bible Of Dreams (1997). This album perhaps best represents Juno Reactor's varied sound which presents a more melodic slant on the familiar riffs and rhythms of trance in unusual combinations and situations, with live percussion ("Conga Fury" and "Kaguya Hime"), vocals ("God Is God") and slide guitar and triple time ("Swamp Thing"). Following the policy of Blue Room, the group have been marketed more like a rock band and moved further from the media's perception of how a dance act should function. In an attempt to integrate more live performance and improvisation into their sound Juno Reactor performed with the South African band Amampondo on a tour of the USA in 1997 supporting Moby. During the same year they also made a seven-date tour of Japan and played at various festival around the UK and Europe. The group have also provided music for a number of film soundtracks, notably Barb Wire, Eraser, Mortal Kombat, Showgirls and Virtuosity.

The album "Bible of Dreams" which is, in my opinion, their best album, is not on here of course. But that's alright, all their stuff is badass. Damn this group amazes me.
