Duane Eddy
Asked to name his greatest contribution to rock, Duane Eddy replied, "I never sang." But he was being modest; he could most certainly make the guitar sing. In fact, Eddy's distinctive trademark twangy guitar--refined in collaboration with famed producer Lee Hazlewood--graced a long string of some of the best instrumental rock records ever made, and helped define the sound of classic rock & roll in the late 1950s and early '60s.
