A trio of Peter Glinderman (vocals, guitar), Dennis Coats (bass) and Stephen Roxford (drums), Driver formed in Canada in the mid-70s. Signed to A&M Records, they recorded their debut album, No Accidents, in 1977. Featuring well-executed, three-minute rock songs largely composed by Glinderman, with the resourceful deployment of pop hooks, it was a critical success within Canada and also provoked good reviews in the USA. Despite this sales were poor and the group's contract was not renewed.
