Deana Carter
Despite being the daughter of legendary Nashville studio guitarist Fred Carter Jr., Deana Carter did not seriously pursue a music career until relatively late in life--her debut album, DID I SHAVE MY LEGS FOR THIS?, was released when the singer was 32. Nevertheless, Carter's mature singer-songwriter-influenced style was an immediate hit. Subsequent albums veered even closer to pure pop music, but retained just enough country twang to appeal to fans in both camps. In 2007 Carter released THE CHAIN, a collection of classic hits, the original recorded versions of which featured her father.
