Culture Club
Led by the flamboyant, gender-bending Boy George, the U.K.'s Culture Club mixed poppy new wave with soul and reggae. In the early 1980s they produced several hit singles that made them one of the decade's biggest success stories on both sides of the Atlantic. The band reformed at the end of the '90s after George conquered his much-publicized drug problem.

My brother once told me. If you just forget what the lead singer from this group looks like. And listen to the music and singing you'll be able to begin to enjoy how this group sounds. Well you know, I followed his advice, and guess what he was right!! Just at the time I was being endoctorated into believing that if you listened to Boy George and Culture Club, that really you must be "Gay". That Classic Rock was where it was at to prove your manhood.
