Coolio
Making his mark with the 1994 hit, FANTASTIC VOYAGE, which employed a sizable portion of the Lakeside tune of the same name, and following with a remake of Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise," Coolio scored with a poppier take on the g-funk sound of Dr. Dre, foreshadowing Sean "Puffy" Combs' success in re-tooling 1970s and '80s pop hits for the rap market.
