C.J. Bolland
b. Christian Jay Bolland, 18 June 1971, Yorkshire, England. DJ and techno maestro Bolland moved with his family to Antwerp, Belgium at an early age, where his parents ran a club. Widely respected on the Euro techno circuit, Bolland initially worked at the influential R&S Records label, specializing in hard-edged rave tunes. He recorded as the Project ("Do That Dance"), Sonic Solution ("Music"), Space Opera and released the Ravesignal 1, 2 and 3 EPs, the latter including the club favourite "Horsepower". However, The 4th Sign in 1993 saw him dispense with his other former noms de plume. It included the new dancefloor techno anthem "Carmague". His busy remixing schedule has included work for the Orbital, the Prodigy, Tori Amos, and Baby Ford. Following another album for R&S, Bolland signed a multi-album deal with Internal Records. The Analogue Theatre included the club hit "Sugar Is Sweeter'. Bolland has also released an album as part of Studio !K7"s DJ-Kicks series.
