Bill Morrissey
With his quirky, old-man drawl and folkie fingerpicking style, it's easy to forget how literate and sophisticated Bill Morrissey is--that is, until one focuses on his lyrics. With a career that spans more than three decades beginning in the mid 1980s, Morrissey relates his tales of real people going through hard times with a novelistic skill. Fittingly, he's a published novelist as well as an acclaimed singer-songwriter. He is also one of modern music's rare regionalists: much of his work is suggestive of his New England home.
