Formed in the late 80s by O-Jay (b. Olaf Jeglitza, Germany), Real McCoy are among Germany's most successful dance acts. Under the name MC Sar And The Real McCoy, his debut record, the anthemic "It's On You" (1991) became a number 1 hit in 12 countries and was followed by a number of international Top 20 hits including "Pump Up The Jam Rap", "Don't Stop" and "Make A Move". Emerging as a trio featuring "Patsy" Patricia Petersen (b. New Jersey, USA) and Vanessa Mason, in 1994 Real McCoy had a Top 5 single in the US with "Another Night". Their American success paved the way for work with such songwriters as Billy Steinberg (Bangles, Madonna, Whitney Houston) and the producer Shep Pettibone (Madonna, Janet Jackson, Pet Shop Boys). The Real McCoy also collaborated with the Ace Of Base production team Ekman and Adebratt. The input of such noted figures resulted in the release of the album Another Night, a US Top 20 success which sold over one million copies and topped charts throughout Europe and Asia.
