Jane Siberry
Canadian singer-songwriter Jane Siberry has been making quirky, ethereal albums full of beautiful, unconventional songs since the mid-1980s. Stretching the boundaries of traditional pop song structure, she gained critical plaudits and a cult following, if not mainstream commercial success. By the '90s, she broadened her sound even further, incorporating jazz, Celtic music, and more. In 1996, Siberry abandoned the commercial demands of major labels and began releasing her gorgeous, left-of-center music on her own label.

When I Was a Boy is one of the great achievements. Dare I say one of the best records ever? I don't like hype like that, but I honestly think it. I can't help it. Jane is in her own category.
