b. Netherlands. One of the first Euro dance music vocalists to make an impact in the USA in the mid-90s, Amber rose to prominence when her single, "This Is Your Night", became a Top 40 hit for Tommy Boy Records. Unlike most Euro crossover hits, the artist had been signed directly to the label rather than being the subject of an opportunistic licensing arrangement. Indeed, this success came despite the fact that the single had yet to be released in Amber's native homeland. The follow-up single was "Colour Of Love", also the title track of the artist's 1997 debut album. Again, this was produced by Amber's writing/production team, Christian and Frank Berman. Extensive US and European touring followed. She had grown up in a musical family, her mother teaching piano, while her father was a professional opera singer. She first met the Berman brothers in 1992, a full two years before they achieved their first international successes with Real McCoy. Although the two parties began working on material together in 1994, it was two years before these sessions were aired, first in the form of "This Is Your Night", and then on her debut album.
