b. 1966, Germany. While Richter was still a small child, his family moved to the UK. His advanced studies included a period at Edinburgh University, where he studied composition and piano, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He also studied privately in Florence, Italy, with Luciano Berio. After his studies ended, he formed Piano Circus, a contemporary classical ensemble. The group's origins stemmed from a desire to perform Steve Reich's composition, "Six Pianos'. During the group's 10-year existence, they commissioned works by Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Arvo P„rt and Julia Wolfe. The group has made several albums for Argo Records, including Reilly Reich " In C 6 Piano.
