Australian singer/actor Jason Donovan first came to prominence in the hit Aussie daytime soap NEIGHBOURS alongside Kylie Minogue. The popularity of the show in the U.K. led to Donovan hooking up with the megapop production team Stock, Aitken & Waterman. With that titanic trio behind him, Donovan scored hit after hit on the U.K. singles chart, topping the parade in December 1988, when he duetted with Minogue on "Especially For You". After the stream of hits slowed to a trickle, Donovan moved into musical theater, and in 1991 took the title role in a successful revival of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT.
